Cleveland Browns Cornerback Denzel Ward to Join the Karen Foundation for MS at 2019 Fundraising Event

(CLEVELAND, OH – April, 18, 2019) The Karen Foundation for MS – a Northeast Ohio-based nonprofit supporting families affected with the daily stresses of multiple sclerosis – will host its 19th annual fundraiser on, April 27, 2019 from 1 to 6 pm at Play Arcade + Kitchen in Mayfield Heights. The fundraising event will feature Cleveland Browns player Denzel Ward, in addition to Ohio State Buckeye alumni Chris “Beanie” Wells and Dan “Boom” Herron.

Expected to draw more than 500 supporters, this year’s event brings together some of Cleveland’s biggest names all for one common cause. Emmett Golden from ESPN Cleveland and ESPN Radio will serve as the event’s emcee, and live music throughout the day will be provided by Swamps of Jersey and Faction Cleveland.

“Having been a professional with the National MS Society for over 18 years and now working with The Karen Foundation, I have seen firsthand how multiple sclerosis affects families,” said Jennifer Hamilton of Just Jennifer LLC. “With 363 people diagnosed per 100,000, it is of the utmost importance that we continue to raise awareness and funds for those living with MS. It’s my honor to continue this important work with this event.”

Proceeds from the event will go to Cleveland Clinic’s The Mellen Center, one of the largest and most comprehensive programs for multiple sclerosis (MS) care and research worldwide.

“We are incredibly excited to announce our official partnership with the Cleveland Clinic and The Mellen Center for Multiple Sclerosis. They share our vision of providing assistance to the people and their families in Northeast Ohio coping with the daily stresses of MS,” said David Toth, Executive Director of The Karen Foundation. “Our hope is that through this alignment, we’ll continue to raise critical funds to fuel our mission and amplify our programs.”
