Hillgate Football Club strikes kit deal with Lookers Kia Stockport

Hillgate FC are set to proudly wear team kits donated by motor retailer Lookers Kia Stockport as they continue to push for further success.

Formed in 2012, the Stockport-based side supports youth players from Hillgate Boys FC in their transition from junior to senior football.

The donation of 14 Puma shirts, shorts and pairs of socks was made through Kia’s Gift of Kit programme, which provides team kits to amateur sports clubs and is expected to free up funds for additional equipment and training costs.

Lookers Kia has also supported other teams in the surrounding area, including Stockport Georgians Cricket Club and Cheshire Rugby Club.

Hillgate, who play their home games at St. Thomas’s Recreation Ground in Offerton, joined the Lancashire & Cheshire Amateur Football League in 2012 and went on to win divisional titles in 2013 and 2016.

It is hoped that the partnership with Lookers Kia Stockport will continue beyond the current season and that the money saved will support the team’s efforts for further success.

Tom Adshead, Manager of Hillgate FC, said: “It’s great to see support coming in from a business local to Hillgate FC, and we’re over the moon to receive the donation of kits from Lookers Kia Stockport. From training to matchday preparations, the cost of running an amateur football side can quickly tally up, so the £700 we’ve saved through this partnership is hugely appreciated. It will provide much-needed funds for training and equipment that will help us continue pushing on for another promotion.”

Thomas Foley, General Manager at Lookers Kia Stockport, said: “We are delighted to donate the team kits to Hillgate FC, that not only provide high-quality Puma gear for the remainder of the season and beyond, but more importantly free up cash that can be used on the side’s training sessions and equipment. Our community engagement strategy is a great opportunity for our dealership to get more involved in our area, and this partnership is a perfect way to do just that. We wish Hillgate the very best of luck going forward, and hope to hear news of their next success in the near future.”
