Immediation appoints Expert Panel to resolve disputes on its online dispute resolution platform

Five former senior judges, including the former Chief Justices of Victoria and Western Australia, are among the legal elite who have come together to help resolve commercial disputes in an online environment. The disruptive platform, Immediation (www.immediation.com), is the first of its kind globally. The Immediation platform enables businesses and consumers to directly access mediation, arbitration and expert determination online as an alternative to traditional pathways, such as going to court.

Immediation’s inaugural Panel, just released, represents the first time that the top brass of the Australian legal profession has embraced online disruption. The Panel that Immediation has curated reflects the depth of Australian expertise in all market segments. Never before has a Panel of this calibre been formed to help improve access to justice, by using former judges, tribunal members, QCs/SCs, barristers, arbitrators, mediators, and leading lawyers from competing top-tier international, national and boutique specialist firms. The Panel members have been appointed as independent neutral experts to provide alternative dispute resolution services through the Immediation platform.

The Panel includes The Hon. Marilyn Warren AC QC (Former Chief Justice of Victoria), Carmel McLure AC QC (Former President of the Court of Appeal of Western Australia), The Hon. Wayne Martin AC QC (Former Chief Justice of Western Australia), The Hon. John Gilmour QC (Former Justice of the Federal Court of Australia) and The Hon. Neville Owen (Former Justice of the Court of Appeal of Western Australia). International law firms represented include Ashurst, Allens, K&L Gates, King & Wood Mallesons, Norton Rose Fulbright and Dentons. National firms represented include Gilchrist Connell, Hopgood-Ganim, HWL Ebsworth, McCullough Robertson, Mills Oakley, Thomson Geer and William Roberts.

Immediation started business with a 40/40/20 gender target and achieved that target. The inaugural Panel is 43% female.
