Northern Industrial triumphs at Red Rose Awards 2019

Blackburn-based Northern Industrial has been crowned the best Ecommerce Business in Lancashire, collecting a custom-made trophy in front of more than 1,000 of their peers at the Red Rose Awards 2019.

Northern Industrial is a multi-award-winning provider of new, reconditioned and obsolete parts and repair services, exporting to 146 countries. Sourcing from over 1,350 manufacturers, the company covers over 200,000 part numbers and holds approximately £7m in stock.

The company entered the Ecommerce Business Award after enjoying annual sales growth of £3 million since the launch of its website three years ago.

The website, which the firm designed and maintains in-house, currently has around 4.2 million URLs, and enables the company to provide new, reconditioned and obsolete parts and repair services across the world from its premises on Shadsworth Industrial Estate, Blackburn.

The Red Rose Awards, organised by Lancashire Business View magazine, are held in Blackpool’s iconic Winter Gardens each year, and honour the best, most inspirational and most innovative businesses operating in Lancashire.

To earn the honour, Northern Industrial triumphed over tough competition: first being selected out of hundreds of nominations from throughout the county to a competitive shortlist, then impressing a panel of judges with a presentation and rigorous interview.

Winners are kept top secret until the prize-giving ceremony. On hearing their name called out from the stage, Northern Industrial then collected their trophy which has been specially crafted by trophy partner Pendle Engineering.

Northern Industrial managing director David Lenehan said: “We are extremely pleased to win this award, which is a fantastic accolade for our dedicated in-house team. Although we have customers in a wide variety of manufacturing disciplines, one thing they all have in common is they want to avoid downtime at all costs. Our aim is to provide the spare parts and repairs customers need as quickly as possible to minimise downtime. Ecommerce allows us to help customers across the world stay up and running in stressful breakdown situations.”

To stand out in a crowded field is a true testament of ingenuity, hard work and doing things the right way.”

BBC Radio Lancashire and North West Tonight host Graham Liver compered the evening, with entertainment from Gravity Live, DFC Lancashire and Funtime Frankies.
