A MINI LOVE AFFAIR - MUCH-LOVED 1989 MINI, ONE LADY OWNER AND JUST 4,000 MILES, AT H&H CLASSICS BUXTON SALE ON NOVEMBER 28

H&H Classics

9th November 2018

1989 AUSTIN MINI 30 WITH 4,000 MILES ON THE CLOCK ESTIMATE: £8,000 - £10,000

The next H&H Classics sale at Buxton on November 28 will feature two Minis which were loved so much by their owners they kept them for decades.

The Mini was originally developed out of Great Britain's need for a more fuel-efficient car. In 1957, Sir Leonard Lord of the Morris Company tasked his top engineer, Alec Issigonis, to head up a team of designers. They started with a transverse engine and gearbox, which allowed front-wheel drive.

Thus started a love affair with drivers around the world that is yet to end some six decades later. That is one proud achievement for an automotive design. Few can match it.

This charming Mini, one of just 2,000 Cherry Red examples, had one lady owner and has done just 4,000 miles from new. It boasts its original sale agreement, book pack, keys, number plates, supplier sticker and tax disc holder.

1965 MINI 850 - ESTIMATE £11,000 - £13,000

And then there is this blue Mini 850 which has a modest 36,250 recorded miles with just two previous owners and comes with the original service book and handbook.

There is something about Minis that seem to make for an automotive love affair.
