UNITED KINGDOM / AGILITYPR.NEWS / September 30, 2020 / A unique rock all the way from Australia has won the confidence of veterinary experts on opposite sides of the world, thanks to its impressive ability to prevent the unsightly burn marks on grass often caused by dog urine.
For more than 15 years, pet parents and lawn lovers have found that when Dog Rocks – a 100% natural igneous rock mined in Australia – are added to a dog’s drinking water, they effectively absorb the nitrates, ammonia and trace elements that can cause nasty yellow burn patches on the family lawn and shrubs. Now the product has also had warm feedback from animal professionals, who have seen the results for themselves.
Veterinarian Dr Chris Hardham, B.V.Sc. from Waverley Animal Hospital in Victoria, Australia – the country where Dog Rocks were first launched – confirmed: “We have supplied Dog Rocks to our clients for the last 24 months. We have had great reports and many repeat sales to our customers.”
The product’s effectiveness has also impressed British animal specialists. “The staff here have highly recommended Dog Rocks and several of our clients purchase them from us,” explained Sue Shepherd, formerly Head Veterinary Nurse and Birmingham’s Scott & Lydon Veterinary Centre. “Many of the staff, including myself use them, and find them to be extremely good. We shall continue to recommend.”
A Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) from Buckley House Veterinary Surgery in Nottingham, tried them for her own beloved pets. She said: “Dog Rocks are working a treat for my grass… I would definitely recommend it to our clients.”
Dog Rocks is the creation of Berkshire-based natural pet care specialists Podium Pet Products, which won The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade in 2016. Animal lover and CEO Carina Evans explained: “Dog Rocks is the simplest, most convenient way to keep your grass lush and green! The igneous stone contains minerals that create a magnetic charge in tap water. This causes an ion exchange that absorbs any impurities in the water like a sponge, leaving it purified for your animal to drink. With fewer nitrates being consumed, fewer reach the lawn, meaning garden lovers can say goodbye to pet pee burn marks!”
Most importantly, Dog Rocks are safe for all household pets and regularly lab tested. “Dog Rocks contain no chemicals or medication and they don’t change the pH balance of the animal’s drinking water or urine, unlike some other products,” continued Carina. “Simply add 200g (one pack) of rinsed Dog Rocks to a 2-litre jug of water, and after 10 hours the water will be ready for your pet’s water bowl. You then just refill the jug as you go along; and replace the spent rocks after two months. It’s so much easier than messing around with grass neutralising sprays or feeding anti-nitrogen tablets!”
A Registered Veterinary Nurse at Leonard Brothers Vet Centre in Shropshire, discovered the difference Dog Rocks made to her own garden. “I am an avid fan of Dog Rocks and have found them very successful,” she said. Her RVN colleague Jacquie also agreed: “We are so impressed with the results so far that we have persuaded our practice to start selling them in the waiting room.”
Dog Rocks are available from a range of retailers and leading pet stores, as well as from www.dogrocks.com.
