Antser announces acquisition of Solihull Autism Assessment Service

BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND / AGILITYPR.NEWS / October 16, 2024 / One of the UK’s leading providers of transformational solutions to the health and social care sector has announced its acquisition of the West Midlands’ leading autism assessment service, following on from the successful launch of its own assessment hubs across the country.

Birmingham-based Antser’s acquisition of Solihull Autism Assessment Service enhances their combined service offering across the region, ensuring more individuals have access to timely, accurate and high-quality autism assessments.

As an established provider of high-quality assessments, Antser identified the need for a quality consumer autism and ADHD assessment offering earlier this year, launching its first Autism Assessment Hub in Birmingham in August.

Since then, hubs have been rolled out to other locations across the UK, including London, Newcastle and Cheshire.

With an ambitious plan to open a clinic in every city in the UK within the next 12 months, Antser began conversations with the Solihull Autism Assessment Service - which is widely recognised as being at the forefront of clinically led quality assessment provision - thereby expanding its commitment to quality and the speed with which it delivers results.

Richard Dooner, Antser’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “I am absolutely delighted to have acquired the Solihull Autism Assessment Service which, like Autism Assessment Hub, is driven by a shared belief that every individual deserves the best possible care and support. By combining the two organisations’ expertise we aim to deliver a service that is not only accessible, compassionate and rooted in excellence but that creates even greater opportunities for neurodivergent individuals to receive the diagnoses and support they need.”

With the average NHS waiting time for an autism assessment in England currently sitting at nine months for children and young people and over 10 months for adults from the time of referral, the average diagnosis time at Autism Assessment Hub is just 6-8 weeks.

The partnership is based on a commitment shared by Solihull’s established team, led by Dr Jessica Donohoe, Co-Director (Clinical Lead Chartered Clinical Psychologist) and Dr Zoe McGovern, Co-Director (Clinical Lead and Clinical Psychologist), who have been instrumental in delivering high-quality assessments and compassionate care.

Dr Zoe said: “At Solihull Autism Assessment Service our priority has always been to work in a collaborative way with families and individuals drawing on our expertise, experience and team work to offer a neuro-affirming, high quality Autism and ADHD assessment pathway. It is really exciting to now join with Antser which has proven it is completely aligned with our service values.

“Together I hope we can help more families and individuals to find understanding and a positive way forward.”

Dr Jessica said: “Zoe and I have worked hard for a number of years to create a reputation and service with high quality and best practice at its heart and we were privileged to be approached by the Antser Group to share our model, working together to deliver reliable, gold standard Autism and ADHD assessments nationally as part of the Autism Assessment Hub. Together, we share the same vision and priorities and we are excited to see how things progress as a team.”

As one of the UK’s leading providers of high-quality assessments, Antser has a proud history of bringing innovation, expertise and a client-focused approach to the sectors it serves. From its decades of experience in family law assessments with Carter Brown, it has consistently set the benchmark for excellence, always with one goal in mind: to improve outcomes for individuals, families and communities.

Richard said: “This acquisition is just the beginning of our expansion in the neurodivergent space. Both Dr Zoe and Dr Jessica are true ambassadors for the sector, making sure quality is at the heart of what they do and as a result of that ethos, they were a natural fit for the business.

“As Antser continues to grow and evolve, we remain committed to delivering the gold standard of service across all of our sectors, ensuring positive outcomes for all.”
