At Noon, Perth Amboy Eateries Hosting City's 1st Food Tour in Downtown & By Waterfront

Celebration of Local Cuisine: the First Perth Amboy Eats: Food Tour

Starts Today at Noon

 

Perth Amboy is celebrating its “restaurant for every taste and occasion” food scene today at noon. The city is welcoming everyone to its Perth Amboy Eats: Food Tour, which includes eateries in the downtown along Smith Street and in the waterfront district. Perth Amboy Eats is also one community’s food-focused websites.

The city’s favorite downtown eateries are hosting a guests and providing “tastes’ of their food specialties.

The first Perth Amboy Eats: Food Tour is a tasting, strolling and fundraising event. Guests will be sampling international cuisine from Cuba to Mexico and South America and many more destinations. Tickets are available online at Eventbrite.

All ticket proceeds from the food tour will support a project paying tribute to local veterans. Funds will be used to engrave on the city’s Veterans’ War Memorial the names of men and women from Perth Amboy who have served our nation during war or conflict.

WHO: More than 25 local eateries, bakeries and more in Perth Amboy’s downtown and waterfront dining districts.

WHAT: Ticket holders are sampling delicious cuisine plus baked goods. Plus, seating available and musicians will play along the tour route. A free trolley will transport guests.

WHERE: Perth Amboy Eats: Food Tour begins at 86 Smith St. walkway in front of the city’s huge “Morning Glory” wall mural (passageway adjoins Rite-Aid Pharmacy and parking Lot C, free parking in municipal lots for all participants).

WHEN: Today from 12PM-4PM

HOW: Perth Amboy is promoting the resiliency of its small business community while paying tribute to local veterans. The food tour is presented by Perth Amboy’s Business Improvement District (BID), and partners include the City of Perth Amboy, Alameda Care Center and all participating food establishments.
