Atlona Ships Two New Omega Series Solutions

Atlona, a Panduit company, is continuing its rapid pace of product releases in its Omega™ Series of AV communications and collaboration solutions with the immediate availability of two powerful new offerings. The latest Omega innovations to begin shipping include the AT-OME-MS42 4x2 matrix switcher with USB extension and the AT-OME-RX21 HDBaseT receiver and 4K/UHD scaler.

Available on its own or bundled in the AT-OME-MS42-KIT with an AT-OME-EX-RX HDBaseT receiver, the OME-MS42 delivers exceptional performance and value for 4K/UHD presentation and video conferencing applications in small-to-medium AV environments such as meeting rooms, conference rooms, and lecture halls. The OME-MS42 features auto-switching HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C inputs alongside HDBaseT and HDMI outputs with selectable switching modes and integrated display control, enabling simple, flexible configuration and effortless user operation.

The OME-MS42’s USB-C input provides direct, BYOD-friendly AV interfacing with mobile devices and laptops and can also be used for data connectivity to the switcher’s integrated USB 2.0 hub. It can also charge the connected device when equipped with an optional power supply. The USB-C port combines with the unit’s USB 2.0 interfaces, plus USB extension for three host computers, plus two peripheral devices such as a camera, microphone, speakerphone, or keyboard and mouse. Ideal for use with soft codec conferencing and unified communications in conjunction with Zoom, Skype® for Business, Microsoft® Teams®, Cisco® Webex®, BlueJeans and GoToMeeting®, the OME-MS42’s flexible matrix switching and selectable 4K to 1080p downscaling on the HDMI output make it equally adept for hardware-based video conferencing applications.

Meanwhile, the AT-OME-RX21 combines HDBaseT receiving with advanced 4K/UHD scaling and an additional local HDMI input. High-quality down-scaling and up-scaling with frame rate conversion preserve color and spatial detail when transforming content between 4K and 1080p, making the OME-RX21 perfect for presentation applications that combine UHD and HD displays.

The OME-RX21 can remotely power an Atlona HDBaseT transmitter through Power over Ethernet (PoE), while automated input selection and display control, audio de-embedding and a built-in dual-port network switch provide further integration convenience. The OME-RX21 is compatible with Atlona’s Omega, HDVS-200, and UHD-EX Series transmitters, as well as Atlona AV presentation switchers with HDBaseT outputs.

Both the OME-MS42 and OME-RX21 are HDCP 2.2 compliant and support HDBaseT transport of video up to 4K/60 with 4:2:0 chroma subsampling alongside embedded audio, control and Ethernet over distances up to 330 feet (100 meters). All inputs and the local HDMI output on the MS42 – as well as the HDMI input and output on the OME-RX21 – support 4K/60 4:4:4 at HDMI data rates up to 18 Gbps.
