Global engineering, advisory and design company Aurecon has appointed energy leader Heidi Sick as its Client Director, Energy, Australia & New Zealand.
Heidi brings significant experience as a leader and advisor to the energy sector across many geographies and roles. Her project and people management expertise across the complete life-cycle of major complex energy projects will help Aurecon’s clients navigate the fast-paced transition to a cleaner, cheaper and more reliable energy future.
As the need for commercialising sustainable energy sources, improving infrastructure and improving efficiency accelerates, Heidi’s extensive experience in renewables will further strengthen Aurecon’s capabilities in wind, solar, hydro and biomass, and the integration of these technologies into the overall energy system.
“One of the things that attracted me to the role with Aurecon was the game-changing solutions and new capabilities they are at the forefront of developing to meet future energy needs,” said Heidi.
Aurecon’s Managing Director, Energy, Resources and Manufacturing, Paul Gleeson said that experts like Heidi bring subject matter expertise and advisory capabilities to major growth markets for Aurecon.
“We are delighted to welcome Heidi into our team. Appointing the right people is one of the steps to ensure our teams are agile and focused on clients’ most significant energy challenges.”
Heidi has been recognised as an outstanding leader in the renewable sector deserving wider public recognition. Her experience leading and inspiring high-performing teams has led to her being awarded the inaugural 2019 Clean Energy Council and Monash University Women in Renewables Your Leadership Voice scholarship. A scholarship that recognises and cultivates the leadership potential of extraordinary women in the clean energy industry.
A member of the technical advisory panel to the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, Heidi’s leadership and commitment in transitioning to a clean energy future is founded in her purpose to make a positive impact.
“Coming from a diverse career background including pharma, biotech and oil and gas I recognised early on that I wanted to make a difference, from making life-saving drugs, reducing emissions for the oil and gas industry to transitioning the energy sector to a low carbon future, my purpose has remained the same,” said Heidi.
To hear from Heidi and other inspirational energy leaders, attend the Australian Clean Energy Summit 2019 Women in Renewables Breakfast on Wednesday 31 July 2019 in Sydney.
About Us
Aurecon is an engineering, advisory and design company, but not as you know it. We’ve reimagined engineering.
Our clients’ ideas and aspirations drive all that we do. We work alongside them like no other firm to co-create clever, innovative solutions to some of the world’s most complex challenges, adding value across the project lifecycle through deep technical and advisory expertise. We serve our clients across a range of markets, in locations worldwide. Hardwired in our DNA are engineering, design and the deep need to leave a legacy. We are as diverse as we are dynamic. As curious as we are clever.
Drawing on our deep pool of knowledge, we bring vital engineering experience, technical capability and design expertise to the table. Then we listen deeply and intently. We see the opportunities, possibilities and potential that others don’t. Through a range of unique creative processes and skills, we collaborate with our clients to re-imagine, shape and design a better future.
We believe humanity depends on engineering; and we recognise we have a broader stewardship role to play. A deep responsibility to hold. As we continually strive for a life in balance, Aurecon clients will be both future ready and engineered for life.
Think engineering. Think again.
