Aurecon named one of Australia’s favourite graduate employers in high-profile industry awards

AUSTRALIA / AGILITYPR.NEWS / February 19, 2020 / International engineering, design and advisory company Aurecon has been awarded the Most Popular Engineering and Resources Employer for the second year running and ranked 10^th in the Top 100 Most Popular Graduate Employers at the prestigious Australian Financial Review’s Graduate Employers awards.

Awards are determined based on the number of Australian university students that apply for advertised positions with an employer on GradConnection, Australia’s most respected graduate employment jobs and information website.

Aurecon Chief People Officer Liam Hayes said the accolades reflected students’ significant interest in working for Aurecon with Aurecon’s intake of 2020 graduates across Australia and New Zealand the largest cohort over the last 10 years.

“This is a 20% increase in the number of graduates starting at Aurecon compared to 2019. We are really proud of our sustained efforts in this market to determine what qualities graduates are looking for in employers and ensuring our offering reflects that,” Mr Hayes said.

“We have focused on a digital approach to engage with the digital generation – our 2019 recruitment efforts utilised Instagram Live to engage with graduates authentically and our world-first visual contracts are free from legal jargon, resemble a comic strip and set a tone of innovation from the graduate’s first initiation with the company.

“We also know from audience research that Generation Z highly prize continuous learning, which is particularly relevant given the need for graduates to adapt, evolve and maintain a strong growth mindset to deal with the ever-changing environment.

“As massive infrastructure projects require increasing digital technologies, graduates entering the workplace will have both engineering and digital qualifications. Over the next three years, Aurecon’s goal is for 50% of our workforce to have digital capabilities and graduates will benefit from our extensive range of learning and development programmes to learn new skills and become future ready,” Mr Hayes said.
