PROMS EVENING at Hole Park on Saturday 29 August 2020
The magical PROMS evening will commence with a majestic spitfire display accompanied by some well-known British war themes. This stirring display will be followed by a wonderful classical concert with all your favourite Proms music including the 1812 Overture, the Hornpipe, Land of Hope & Glory, Rule Britannia and Jerusalem along with a whole host of other fantastic classical pieces.
The proms event will also feature two amazing talents, Opera Singer, Nicky Spence and Mezzo Soprano Claire Presland.
Nicky is described in The Times this year as ‘a tenor who combines heroic tone and a poetic sensibility that takes the breath away’. Nicky has recorded prolifically and is a regular featured recitalist at the Wigmore Hall, London though he can mostly be found on the International stages of Opera de Paris, Covent Garden and the Metropolitan Opera, New York.
Claire is described by the Times as ‘mesmerising with an intensity that almost sears the flesh’. Clare is a former winner of the Chilcott Award and has firmly established herself on the international operatic and concert platforms. On the concert platform she made her Barbican Hall debut in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The evening will come to an end with a spectacular firework display fully synchronised to music. The evening starts at 6.30 and food and drink is available to buy on site.
‘UK QUEEN’ will perform on Friday 28 August 2020 at Hole Park
A must see for all Queen fans, UK Queen with Alexander Koronka was formed out of a love of re-producing Queen’s top hits with top musicians. Requested by Ambassadors and Royalty, Alexander (Al) fronts his handpicked live band as ‘Freddie Mercury’ and has performed from the Queen songbook for well over a decade to audiences around the world.
UK Queen creates a musical ‘experience’ which often includes classical quartets or top sopranos to deliver songs such as’ Barcelona’. Alexander’s desire is not just to faithfully reproduce Queen’s greatest hits, but to expand his audiences’ musical journey by introducing them to the truly magnificent and broad song book of Queen, accompanied by only the very best musicians.
Also performing on Friday 28 August and returning by popular demand will be Sussex three piece cover band ‘The Low Down’. Their repertoire contains popular songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and 10s.
