Bright Power Celebrates 20 Years of Decarbonizing the Built Environment **Recognizes clients who have allowed Bright Power to reduce more than 667 million pounds of carbon emissions, truly making an impact on the planet

NEW YORK, NEW YORK / AGILITYPR.NEWS / December 04, 2024 / December 4, 2024 - NEW YORK, New York – Bright Power, Inc. is proud to celebrate 20 years of decarbonizing the built environment and recognize partners and friends who have been an integral part of making their journey a success. Bright Power has spent the past twenty years addressing climate change by providing sustainable energy solutions in buildings in a quest for a zero-carbon future.

Founded in 2004, Bright Power’s service offerings are designed to work toward a world in which sustainable, resilient, healthy buildings are accessible to all. Today, Bright Power contributes to this goal by helping buildings reduce energy and water consumption. This not only contributes to a zero-carbon future, but positively impacts a building's bottom line by reducing operations and maintenance costs and improving resident comfort.

Since its inception, Bright Power has reduced carbon emissions by more than 667 Million pounds across more than 158,000 buildings and 2.9 billion square feet of real estate. This has also resulted in approximately $285 million in utility savings. Bright Power has performed more than 2,500 energy audits and 800 energy efficiency retrofit projects. In the new construction sector, Bright Power has completed more than 550 green building certifications and brought 30 Passive House projects to life. Bright Power is projecting to annually reduce almost 30 Mlbs Co2e, or close to 900 Mlbs of CO2 over 30 years just within 116 green buildings. Bright Power is committed to a zero-carbon future.

Bright Power has not only been a leader in energy efficiency but has also been a leader in empowering diversity. “50% of our team are women and the energy and compassion they bring to the industry has helped accelerate the adoption of decarbonization efforts,” said Andrea Mancino, CEO, Bright Power. “I have mentored many women over the years and seen a noticeable shift toward women in leadership roles, especially in engineering and construction. There are a lot of partnerships happening in the industry within the government sector, the private sector, developers, and manufacturers, and women play an important role. And this could not be more true at Bright Power where women are valuable resources in thinking about creative ways to further decrease our impact on the environment.”

Due to demand, Bright Power has recently added several Local Law 97 services to its portfolio to support clients complying with NYC's groundbreaking carbon cap legislation and help them achieve their sustainability goals. Bright Power not only offers emissions reporting and Prescriptive Energy Conservation Measure verification and submission but also offers custom risk assessments to enable owners and managers to implement a plan for compliance even when the rules are still under development.

Bright Power was recently recognized as the 2024 Multifamily Top Contractor of the Year for the Comprehensive Affordable Multifamily Energy Efficiency Program (AMEEP). The Comprehensive Program through AMEEP is designed to support buildings looking to complete deep retrofits with a complicated multi-measure scope.

Additional awards won in 2024 include:

  • 2024 NYSERDA Buildings of Excellence Award and extra honor of Blue Ribbon for Design: Carmen Villegas Apartments
  • 2024 MO 100 Impact Ranking awarded to Andrea Mancino, CEO

“I am really proud of what Bright Power has accomplished in the last twenty years,” said Jeff Perlman, Founder and Chief Strategy Officer. “Everyone at Bright Power is dedicated to making a positive impact on the planet and we continue to multiply our impact on creating sustainable, resilient, healthy buildings that are accessible to all.”
