CHARLOTTE’S GYMNASTIC EVENT OF 2019: GYMNASTS FROM ACROSS THE SOUTH COMPETE IN EIGHTH ANNUAL EVEREST CLASSIC More than 500 gymnasts, including nearly 90 from the Charlotte-area, will show off their skills and have chance to qualify for future state meets

It’s the Charlotte area’s gymnastics event of the year! This weekend, Everest Gymnastics will host the 8th Annual Everest Classic at Hough High School in Cornelius. More than 500 Xcel and Junior Olympic gymnasts, levels 2-10 from 17 gyms across the Carolinas and Georgia, will perform routines on the vault, uneven bars, beam and floor.


“We’re proud to have 89 gymnasts from our facility competing in this year’s Classic,” said Qi Han and Yiwen Chen, owners and coaches at Everest Gymnastics. “It’s a true privilege to host these gymnasts from across the south as we look to grow their skills and have a little fun.”


Awards will be distributed to the top 50% of individual gymnasts. Each of the competing gymnasts will receive an all-around medal and have the opportunity to qualify for future state meet competitions.

Qi Han and Yiwen Chen opened Everest Gymnastics Training Center, Inc. in 2004 and opened its newest facility in Cornelius, NC in 2018.
