TUCSON, AZ / AGILITYPR.NEWS / August 12, 2026 / August 11 Preview Offered Reporters a Guided Interior Tour of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe’s Third Gaming Property Ahead of Its November 15 Opening at 1055 W. Grant Road
Casino Del Sol, the award-winning resort enterprise owned and operated by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, this week hosted a media preview of Casino Del Sol, Vahi Taaʼam, offering reporters a guided interior tour of the Tribe’s third gaming property ahead of its November 15, 2026 opening at 1055 W. Grant Road. The Tuesday, August 11 preview gave media first-look access to the gaming floor and interior finishes of the 153,480-square-foot property, months before its public debut.
The name Vahi Taaʼam (pronounced vah-hee tah-ahm) means “Three Suns” in Yoeme, the language of the Pascua Yaqui people, symbolizing light and a bright future for the community, the Tribe and every guest who will walk through its doors.
“Walking media through these doors for the first time was a special moment for our team. Every detail in this building reflects who we are as a Tribe, and we cannot wait to welcome the community in November,” said Lesah Sesma, General Manager of Casino Del Sol, Vahi Taaʼam.
Rooted in Culture, Designed for Southern Arizona
Visible from the tour route and from Interstate 10, the property’s signature 26-foot copper dome evokes the sun rising over the desert landscape, a tribute to both Arizona’s copper heritage and the warmth of the enterprise it crowns. Inside, media saw vaulted domed ceilings, patterned terrazzo tile, wood accents, opulent archways and rustic ironwork.
Overhead, media got a first look at the 24,000-square-foot domed ceiling mural by Tucson artist Joe Pagac, a rendering of the Arizona sky with programmable lighting that transitions from midday warmth to the amber glow of a Sonoran sunset. And at the entrance, every guest entering the casino will be greeted by a full-scale mural by Marcelino C. Flores III, a contemporary Yaqui painter and lifelong member of Tucson’s Old Pascua Community. Titled Aniam Yoʼorine, Yoeme for “Respect the Worlds,” the piece draws on Pascua Yaqui oral tradition, the Sonoran Desert and the five worlds central to Yoeme spiritual life.
What Media Saw
The tour included the property’s 52,252-square-foot gaming floor, where 928 slot machines and 24 table games will greet guests at opening, along with a dedicated High Limit Lounge and bar-top gaming at the Center Bar. Media also previewed where the SolSports, OP Grill, and Sewa Market dining were being built out, and the property’s four-level, 1,004-space parking garage.
Casino Del Sol, Vahi Taaʼam is expected to create approximately 500 new jobs across gaming operations, food and beverage, hospitality, security and administration, a significant employment investment in the Southern Arizona community the Tribe has long called home. Casino Del Sol, Vahi Taaʼam joins the Pascua Yaqui Tribe’s flagship Casino Del Sol Resort on Valencia Road and Casino of the Sun. The November 15 opening will mark the Tribe’s third, and most ambitious, chapter yet.
