March 15, 2023 – (Salt Lake City) – Nightingale Education Group today announced Dr. Jeffrey A. Olsen, formerly vice president and provost, as the second President of Nightingale College, a national leader in distance learning for pre- and post-licensure nursing education programs, effective March 1, 2023.

Dr. Olsen joined Nightingale College in December 2017, and has served as the College’s Vice President, Learner Experience and Provost. With bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees from Brigham Young University, Pacific Lutheran University, Western Illinois University and Utah State University, Dr. Olsen earned his doctorate in instructional technology and learning science. He continues to be an integral part of the evolution, success, and molding of the mission of Nightingale College. Prior to joining Nightingale, Dr. Olsen was the Instructional Design Manager in the College of Health Professions at Western Governors University where he oversaw the development of new health profession educational programs.

“As I follow in the footsteps of Mikhail Shneyder, the College’s first president, I look forward to carrying on his tireless work in improving health outcomes, creating access and opportunity for underserved communities, and elevating people, families, and communities,” said Dr. Olsen.

Dr. Olsen has been a strong advocate of helping people elevate themselves, their families, and their communities. He also has been a longstanding supporter, working toward closing education equity gaps in the United States. Recently named one of Utah Business Magazine’s ‘Forty Under 40,’ Dr. Olsen believes that “education can be a catalyst for individuals to be the best versions of themselves however that looks to them.”

During his tenure at Nightingale College, Dr. Olsen has worked diligently to create outlets for opportunity and access for underserved and vulnerable populations. Dr. Olsen will succeed Mikhail Shneyder, MBA, RN, who will continue serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Nightingale Education Group.
