Protecting Your Computer from Earthquake Damage (since we’re all so dependent on computers now)

 

  1. Use a surge protectorPower outages can be frequent and sudden
  2. You need to make sure your computer doesn't get damaged during a surge
  3. Secure monitors to desks or mount on the wall
  4. Keep laptops in a caseJust leaving it lying around could cause it to fall or debris to fall on it.
  5. Securing it in a case when not in use can help protect it.
  6. HAVE A BACKUP!Make sure your data and files are backed up, using 3..2..1 system3 copies of the data
  7. 2 different media devicesthe computer and
  8. an external drive, and
  9. 1 offsite
