Edinburgh Singer Songwriter Debuts at Edinburgh Festival
CHRIS RAY KING TO PLAY DEBUT SHOW AT EDINBURGH FESTIVAL FRINGE 2019
EDINBURGH, UK – Edinburgh-based singer-songwriter Chris Ray King is to perform his first show at the internationally renowned Edinburgh Festival Fringe in the city this month.
Following the launch of his debut single, New York, in June 2019, Chris Ray King has just finished writing material for his show, Cold Turkey Blues, and has just finished recording his second single, Shoulda Known Better. Chris Ray King focuses in particular on lyrics, writing about subjects that are important to him, and his songs have a folk-rock, storytelling vibe. He lists a very broad range of influences that reflect his eclectic tastes in punk, jazz, prog rock and traditional music.
Talking about his creative process Chris Ray King explained: “I used to write songs quite some time ago and have returned to it over the past year or so. The difference this time is my level of belief in the material. I love playing these songs and just want to put them out there.”
Chris Ray King is performing for one night only at the Festival and early booking is advised. The show is sure to be a hit with lovers of original singer-songwriters who wear their hearts on their sleeves and lay bare their emotions on the stage. Soulful and complex, ranging from fast-paced folk-rock to moving ballads, Chris Ray King’s music offers something original and exciting.
Chris Ray King commented: “I’m hoping to channel just a fraction of the spirit of Greenwich Village in the ‘60s and engage my audience in an entertaining and authentic way.”
