TikTalk2Me is transforming personalized speech therapy in the digital realm with its new artificial intelligence-based TikTalk, a new program just released on Apple and Android tablet platforms.

Now, for the first time, parents can download the new system on iPads and Android devices for practice anytime, anywhere, which is activated and guided by their school or private speech- language pathologist (SLP). More robust than a simple training app, TikTalk accelerates speech therapy with precise digitized lesson customization and innovative training for K-6-aged children using highly engaging video games to encourage more frequent home practice.

TikTalk was developed to address the perpetual challenges that no two patients are alike, and insufficient progress is being made between therapy sessions. The TikTalk virtual therapy system was developed by SLPs for SLPs to help their patients practice more often with games based on customized practice protocols that the SLP develops using a series of comprehensive drop-down menus never before available. And it offers the ability to monitor and provide feedback during or after practice using practice recordings.

“Some apps are good for encouraging practice,” says Sandra Laserson, M.A. CCC-SLP, an Ohio-based SLP in private practice who helped develop TikTalk. “But I never knew how much practice was being done, how accurate sounds were being produced and had limited mechanisms at my disposal to report the success.”

SLP clinicians already use games and props to engage children in their sessions, but now they can program video games for engaging at home use. Unlike the myriad of apps available, the TikTalk platform incorporates engaging games that can be individually programmed to encourage target repetitions, making practice feel like play. New games are being added frequently so the patient never gets bored and is continually challenged.
