UNITED KINGDOM / AGILITYPR.NEWS / September 02, 2026 / For more than a decade, Grace McAuley spent her days helping people find new homes. Now, instead of handing over house keys, she's set to welcome local families into parent and baby classes as the new host of Baby Sensory Wimbledon.

Grace has officially taken over the Wimbledon franchise, bringing a very different kind of career experience to one of the area's longest-running baby activity programmes.

Until two years ago, she worked as an estate agent, regularly putting in six-day weeks and long hours that stretched from early morning until evening. While she enjoyed meeting people and guiding them through major life milestones, she found herself wanting a career that offered a better balance and a stronger connection with the local community.

Ironically, the opportunity came on one of her rare days off. She attended a Baby Sensory class in Sutton with a friend, Louise, and Louise's daughter. What was meant to be a simple visit turned into the beginning of a completely new career.

Grace said, "I still remember walking into that first class. There was such a lovely atmosphere, and everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. The songs, the activities and seeing the babies so engaged really stayed with me.

"When Louise later suggested I should become a class leader, I couldn't stop thinking about it. It felt completely different from anything I'd done before, but it also felt right. Two years on, taking over Baby Sensory Wimbledon feels like a natural next step."

Baby Sensory classes are designed for babies from birth to 13 months, combining music, movement, sensory play and carefully planned activities that support early development. Every session is built around research into how babies learn during their first year, while giving parents practical ideas they can continue using at home.

Grace says one of the biggest surprises has been the friendships that grow through the classes, both between parents and within the wider Baby Sensory network.

"The community is what stands out for me," she said. "Parents arrive from all sorts of backgrounds, but everyone has one thing in common - they want to spend quality time with their baby. If people leave having learned something new, met another parent or simply had a really enjoyable hour together, then that's a good day."

Having lived in Worcester Park all her life and attended local schools, Grace is looking forward to continuing creating a warm, familiar space where babies can learn through play and parents feel part of a community.
