NEWARK, NEW JERSEY / AGILITYPR.NEWS / September 16, 2022 / September 16th, 2022, Newark, New Jersey-- Greater Newark Enterprise Corporation (GNEC) is inviting start-ups, mom-and-pops, and the everyday entrepreneur with two years of experience or less to apply to the Brunch Pitch Competition. Building on the success of the spring Brunch Pitch, GNEC has partnered with the DM Firm once again to bring the competition back to Newark. Applications are open to entrepreneurs in the Greater Newark region, such as Newark, Orange, East Orange, Irvington, Harrison, Elizabeth, Kearney, and Hillside, New Jersey, who will benefit from coaching in crafting or refining their business pitch.
The competition is a platform that will allow entrepreneurs of color across all spectrums of development to receive coaching and pitch to a panel of industry judges for vital feedback and actionable next steps. Last year's winner and founder of Integrate Schools, Kevin Celisca, states, "This process helped me to fine-tune my pitch and make it more compelling, which will increase my chances of obtaining more investment," states Kevin. "This event is important for entrepreneurs of color because it allows them to experience what it feels like to pitch in front of investors and audience members in a live environment."
The entrepreneurs selected to participate will receive virtual pitch development coaching from the founder of The DM Firm and Brunch Pitch, Tasemere Gathers, ahead of the competition. Applications are now open and will be due Tuesday, October 4th at 11:59 PM. Only eighteen entrepreneurs will be selected to pitch Saturday, November 5th at 9 AM.
