SUDBURY, ON, CANADA / AGILITYPR.NEWS / March 23, 2021 / HARD-LINE’s Walter Siggelkow enters MineConnect’s Hall of Fame

Sudbury (March 23, 2021) – MineConnect will be adding two more names to its Hall of Fame including HARD-LINE President and founder, Walter Siggelkow. It is a fitting time for Siggelkow to receive this prestigious award as 2021 marks HARD-LINE’s 25th year anniversary. HARD-LINE is a global technology company specializing in remote and tele-remote control solutions for heavy machinery in mining.

“I’m really proud. This means a lot to me especially considering all of the big names that have been inducted before me,” says Siggelkow. With the help of others, he started HARD-LINE in 1996 and turned the company from a small basement operation into an international success. “There is no denying we got off to a tough start. But over time, with great coworkers and the right products, we were able to succeed and not only expand in Sudbury but establish offices in other parts of the world.”

The honour has been handed out by MineConnect (Formerly SAMSSA) since 2007, to those who have made significant contributions to the mining supply and service industry in Northern Ontario. “It is very important for the organization to recognize those special members that have contributed so much not only to the industry but the communities they operate in,” says MineConnect’s Executive Director, Paul Bradette. He adds: “Walter is a reflection of the qualities we want to celebrate and is an ideal candidate for this honour.” 

Siggelkow has travelled the world, working on thousands of projects installing his creations like RRC (Radio Remote Control) on different types of heavy machinery. Walter played a significant role in creating other products that promote safety and enhance mining production like the TeleOp suite and BackBone Networks.

The 61-year-old will be inducted by his son, Ryan, who is the Senior Vice President of Technology at HARD-LINE. “There is so much to say about my dad both professionally and as a father. He’s been a great mentor and I’m excited to see him get recognized for all that he’s accomplished.”

Joining Siggelkow in this year’s class is Steve Matusch, the founder of Ionic Technology Group who will be recognized posthumously. The induction ceremony takes place at MineConnect’s AGM on Wednesday, March 24th at 4:00 p.m.
