Introducing You to the World of ADHD FastBraiin

A pediatrician’s new book gives parents practical answers and reshapes the identity of children with ADHD

AUSTIN, TEXAS [January 7, 2020] – Dr. Jim Poole, MD, FAAP, a clinical associate of Duke Health in North Carolina, released his first book today to redefine what it means to have, live and manage ADHD — or what Poole affectionately calls FastBraiin. Poole challenges the current stigma associated with ADHD and encourages readers — primarily parents — to see it as a gift, even if it comes with a set of real challenges. His book titled “Flipping ADHD on Its Head: How to Turn Your Child's "Disability" into Their Greatest Strength introduces parents, educators and pediatricians to the world of FastBraiin through practical tips and comprehensive application that can positively shape their child’s identity and provide them a life of successful management. “Flipping ADHD on Its Head” is now available where books are sold.

“This book helps parents understand that there is nothing ‘wrong’ with their child; their child just has different strengths,” said Poole. “After reading this book, it is my hope parents can happily embrace their child’s mental condition because it is a strength. With the support of practical and accessible tools in my book, children can gain confidence and parents can turn their frustration, desperation and despair into joy.”

“Flipping ADHD on Its Head” leads readers on a practical roadmap to leverage the strengths of ADHD through effective parenting strategies, study skills, nutrition, exercise, sleep, medication and more. With over 40 years of treating ADHD children and a lifetime of having ADHD himself, Poole hints at what it is like having FastBraiin through the name itself.

“This book idea started as the brainchild of our clinics,” said Poole. “The name came about one night when I had an epiphany. Rushing to submit his trademark for the brand, I accidentally wrote brain with two ‘i’s but decided to keep the unintentional error as an inside meaning for what it’s like having FastBraiin.”

Parenting is already hard, and Poole knows having a FastBraiin child can bring unexpected challenges to a family. Poole is elated to share a holistic and comprehensive approach in his book to give parents a hope-filled perspective.
