Junior League of Tucson Ribbon Cutting Celebrates the Grand Opening & Dedication of Cinderella’s Closet

TUCSON, AZ / AGILITYPR.NEWS / July 16, 2025 / Permanent Location and Staffing Help Area High School Girls Find Prom Dresses Year Round

The Junior League of Tucson (JLT) invites the community and media to a heartfelt celebration and ribbon cutting for Cinderella’s Closet, a year-round boutique providing prom dresses for teens across Southern Arizona. The event will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 1 PM at the Junior League of Tucson headquarters (2099 E River Road, Tucson, AZ 85718).

The boutique will be dedicated in honor of Past President Amy Bhola, whose leadership and vision laid the foundation—literally—for the boutique’s home. Bhola originally championed the construction of the building now transformed into this empowering, inclusive space for teens.

* A Boutique of Belonging

Since opening its doors 2.5 years ago, Cinderella’s Closet has provided nearly 3,000 dresses to over 1,200 students, representing more than 68 high schools across Pima County and beyond—including schools as far north as San Manuel and south as Nogales. Every public, charter, and private high school in the region has been served.

“We created this boutique because we knew seasonal pop-ups weren’t enough,” said Amy Cislak, JLT Immediate Past President. “We were receiving calls almost daily from students in need. This permanent space ensures that every teen, regardless of circumstance, has year-round access to the joy, dignity, and confidence a dress can bring.”

* Honoring Community Champions

The celebration also recognizes two key supporters:

- Angel Charity for Children, whose generous gift of $67,800 helped transform the space into a fully functioning boutique

- Sparkle Cleaners, Title Sponsor and longtime partner, which has professionally cleaned and processed nearly 4,000 dresses for free since the program began

*Media Invitation

Members of the media are invited to attend for interviews, photo and video opportunities, and a firsthand look at this inspiring space. With the upcoming school year and fall dances on the horizon, the event offers a powerful and timely story about community, access, and the transformative power of a dress.

Light refreshments will be served.
