Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (KODA) and the Kentucky Circuit Court Clerks’ Trust for Life (TFL) for “Gift of Life” Summit 2019 The Summit will take place on TODAY at the Embassy Suites - Lexington, KY


WHAT: The “Gift of Life” Summit event will be held on TODAY in Lexington, Ky., at the Embassy Suites. The Summit celebrates saving lives through organ donation and healing lives through tissue donation.  


WHEN: The “Gift of Life” Summer will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m..

10:00 a.m.: Shelley Snyder, Executive Director, Kentucky Circuit Clerks’ Trust for Life & Vice-President of Strategic Partnerships, Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates kicks off the Summit, followed by:

  • Intro of Keynote: Julie Bergin, President & CEO, Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates
  • Keynote Speaker: Jason Schechterle, an Arizona Police Officer burned in the line of duty which resulted in a lifesaving tissue transplant and author
  • Special Presentation: Jenna Sota, Donor Center Operations Manager & Jennifer Daniel, Organ Operations Manager
  • Lunch
  • Introduction of Awards: Kim Wardlow, Hospital Development Coordinator & Lauren Salyer, Hospital & Community Educator
  • Outstanding Donate Life Ambassador Awards: Stephanie Grooms, Community Educator & Bridgit Buffington, Recipient Wife
  • Outstanding Coroner Awards: Dwayne Jolly, Tissue Operations Manager & Tina Kingsbury, Donor Wife
  • Outstanding Circuit Clerk Awards: Shelley Snyder & Courtney Thompson, Awaiting Double Lung Transplant
  • Outstanding Hospital Awards: David Dyer, Client Services Operations Manager & Shannon Adkins, Donor Mom & Philanthropy Officer

MORE: “This is a brand-new opportunity for KODA and TFL to meet and greet with hospital partners, Circuit Clerks, Coroners, volunteers from around our service area,” said Shelley Snyder, KODA’s Vice President for Strategic Partnerships and TFL Executive Director. “It will be a day filled with inspirational stories and education – as we gather to celebrate National Donate Life Month and say THANK YOU for all the excellent work our key partners do each, and every day.”

The Summit is hosted by Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (KODA) and the Kentucky Circuit Court Clerks’ Trust for Life (TFL).
