USA / AGILITYPR.NEWS / March 30, 2021 / Three years ago, then-14-year-old Leah Sharibu was one of 110 girls kidnapped from her school in Nigeria by the terrorist group Boko Haram. The other 109 girls were released a month later, but Leah remains in captivity. The reason? She was the only Christian among the captives, and she resolutely refused to deny her faith.
According to sources, her captors gave her over to a Boko Haram commander, who "married" her and has fathered two children with her, the second being born late in 2020. The abduction, rape and forced betrothal of young Christian girls like Leah is considered part of the spoils of holy war. Girls forced into marriage under such conditions are considered to have converted.
