PORTUGAL / AGILITYPR.NEWS / July 16, 2020 / LOBA integrates European Commission’s innovation projects of 18,8€ million
LOBA, Portuguese agency in the field of customer experience, has just been selected to lead the communication of three projects promoted and financed by the European Commission, estimated at 18,8 million euros. The ICARUS, AI4MEDIA and CONNECT projects will have their official launch in September this year, and the kick-off meeting will occur remotely, due to the coronavirus global crisis.
The ICARUS project aims to respond to emerging urban safety issues Europe is facing (such as radicalism, traffic and organized crime, juvenile delinquency and public spaces), gathering the best and proven policing approaches in the last 30 years. This initial work will allow to develop a series of tools that will support urban safety actors in preventing and mitigating these crimes. Besides LOBA, other 18 organizations are part of this consortium, as well as Law Enforcement Agencies from Riga (Latvia), Lisbon (Portugal), Turin (Italy), Rotterdam (The Netherlands), Nice (France) and Stuttgart (Germany).
AI4MEDIA will focus on the challenges, risks and opportunities arising from the use of artificial intelligence by the media. The project’s consortium is formed by 30 European organizations: nine universities, nine research centres and 12 media and ICT industries, where the renowned RAI-Radiotelevisione Italiana and the multinational giants IBM and Fraunhofer stand out. The members of the consortium aim to develop the next generation of artificial intelligence advances that will serve the media sector.
Finally, the CONNECT project aims to support European schools to adopt an open education approach in order to encourage young people to pursue careers in mathematics, engineering, science and technology. LOBA belongs to the consortium, which integrates other nine organisations, not only European, but also two Brazilian.
These new EU-funded research and innovation projects join the list of the customer experience agency that already counts 25 projects of this kind in its portfolio since 2010. LOBA has been recognized at a European level by its involvement in European Commission financed projects (not only communication wise, but also in coordination, consulting, events organization and web development), having stayed, in 2019, at the top 5 of Portuguese SMEs with the most EU-funded projects allocated. The agency is also renowned for its high success rate (20%) in the applications it submits to projects of this kind.
