Lauren Jewell joins Aurecon to connect and serve NSW Government on major infrastructure projects

Global engineering, design, and advisory company Aurecon has appointed public sector infrastructure advisory specialist Lauren Jewell as its NSW Government Leader.

Lauren joins the Government practice at Aurecon dedicated to providing a depth of understanding of public sector policy and drivers and aligning it with technical and implementation expertise. The team has first-hand experience and networks in the Federal and State public sector and as private sector consultants and advisors on major infrastructure projects.

Aurecon’s Managing Director, Government Aneetha de Silva said she was delighted to have Lauren on board.

“Lauren’s combination of strategic, economic and engineering consulting acumen, coupled with her experience working across New South Wales, South Australia, Canberra and New Zealand will bring a relationship network and expertise that will help drive multi-stakeholder collaboration. She has proven expertise assisting public and private sector clients as they grapple with the scale of the today’s infrastructure programmes, political uncertainty, fiscal and industry constraints, and more informed and vocal communities.”

“Lauren’s appointment further strengthens Aurecon’s infrastructure and Government advisory capability and expertise. Our investment in another high calibre leader reinforces our commitment to be a long-term service provider to Federal and State Governments faced with the challenges of substantial infrastructure programmes,” said Aneetha.

In her NSW Government Leader role, Lauren will focus on increasing Aurecon’s market share with NSW Government.

Lauren joins Aurecon from EY where she was a Director in the Infrastructure Advisory practice, specialising in infrastructure development, business case and transport strategy. Before then, she held roles in PwC as an infrastructure economist, and as the strategic planning manager and financial analyst for WSP Opus (previously known as Opus International Consultants).

Lauren has expertise in cross-agency engagement and the management and delivery of complex infrastructure projects. She has worked on both the strategy, economic, finance and commercial and engineering sides on consultancy firms and can seamlessly integrate multi-disciplinary thinking to deliver better outcomes for both governments and citizens.

Lauren is also passionate about people development. She is the Founder and Director of The Inside Entrepreneur, an executive coaching and development practice that focuses on unleashing the potential of emerging leaders. Lauren refers to them as ‘intrapreneurs’ - ambitious individuals that are often hidden within big organisations.

“NSW is going through a period of unprecedented growth and keeping up with the infrastructure demand is placing government under increasing pressure. I’m delighted to join Aurecon to help build on their innovative thinking in meeting these complex challenges and creating better outcomes for citizens,” Lauren said.
