Pompano Beach, FL - Lenny Dave, a nationally recognized comedy historian and humorist highlights a Century’s worth of funny men and women when he presents “100 Years of Comedy!” on Wednesday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center. Tickets are $30 pre-sale and $35 at the door;

For those who enjoyed the greatest comedians of the 20th century, enduring talents comes to mind: Jack Benny; Bob Hope; Lucille Ball; Charlie Chaplin; Laurel & Hardy; George Burns & Gracie Allen; Groucho Marx; Mae West; Jimmy Durante; Milton Berle; Sid Caesar; Red Skelton; Carol Burnett, and so many other timeless masters of laughs.


All these great humorists and more, are featured in an evening guaranteed to bring back nostalgic memories of your favorite comedians with musical skits associated with them.

“Comedians, especially those from what is referred to as the Golden Age of Comedy, played an invaluable role in helping Americans endure the Great Depression and two world wars,” said Lenny. “In the 1950s and 60s, the next generation of comedians helped us confront a tidal wave of societal change. All of the great comedians serve as the roots and branches on the comedy tree. They make us laugh; they entertain us; they make us think.”


Lenny will be accompanied on the piano by Bob Vogel who has entertained audiences nationally for decades with his musical mastery and witty warmth. Together, Lenny and Bob take great pride in presenting an evening of nostalgia, comedy and good, clean fun.

About the Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department

The mission of the Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department is to provide cultural programming that includes the visual arts, music, film, theater, dance, public art, history, and historic preservation for the enjoyment and enrichment of residents and visitors to Pompano Beach, Broward County, and the greater South Florida area.
