Local Moving Company is now Wheaton Moving & Storage

Indianapolis moving service to celebrate van line’s 75th anniversary with name change

INDIANAPOLIS — Seventy-five years ago, Earnest S. Wheaton founded Wheaton World Wide Moving, then known as Clipper Van Lines, in Indianapolis, Ind. The van line headquarters remains in the Circle City, having grown with several acquisitions to 450 agents, 5 brands and more than 125 local employees. Throughout that long history, the van line has been committed to quality and focused on customer service.

For the past sixty years, van line-owned Crown Moving & Storage has performed local and long-distance moving services in Indianapolis, representing Wheaton on the local level. Now, to celebrate Wheaton’s 75th anniversary and to embrace the relationship between the van line and the local agency that shares its campus, Crown is changing its name to Wheaton Moving & Storage.

In 2019, Wheaton won first prize in Loyalty360’s Employee Engagement category and ranked Best in Class for continued commitment to promote customer loyalty through an employee focus. In 2020, Wheaton was honored by National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM) with the organization’s Margit Novak Award for Excellence in Move Management. A member of the Indiana Motor Truck Association and the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA), Wheaton Moving & Storage has also earned FC Tucker Best in Class and Angie’s List recommended.
