Mayor visits local anaphylaxis charity

UNITED STATES / AGILITYPR.NEWS / November 19, 2019 / Mayor of Rushmoor visits local anaphylaxis charity

The Mayor of Rushmoor visited the offices of Anaphylaxis Campaign www.anaphylaxis.org.uk on Monday 18 November to hear about the vital support we provide to people at risk from severe allergic reactions.

This event is part of our celebrations to mark 25 years since the charity was founded. During the visit the Mayor, Cllr Sue Carter, spoke with our CEO Lynne Regent, one of our trustees, Sue Clarke, and the different departments which deliver our services.

This included our national helpline advisors who give advice on everything from allergy care to food labelling, and our fundraising team who this year helped create the charity’s first Anaphylaxis Awareness Week in May.

Cllr Sue Carter said:

“I was delighted to be invited to Anaphylaxis Campaign’s offices which has spent the last 25 years supporting individuals and families at risk of anaphylaxis, the most severe allergic reaction.

“By raising awareness, campaigning for change and offering vital information, the charity is helping those at risk to manage their allergy successfully.

"Anaphylaxis Campaign is a fantastic organisation and it was great to see that they all really care about the charity they work for."

Our Chief Executive Lynne Regent said:

“We are honoured to have the Mayor of Rushmoor visit our offices to find out more about the vital support we provide to those at risk of anaphylaxis.

“We are a UK wide charity but recognition within our local area in Farnborough is greatly appreciated and helps us to continue raising awareness and funds so that we can offer more support to those affected.”

Notes for Editors:

Anaphylaxis is a severe and often sudden allergic reaction. It can occur when someone with allergies is exposed to something they are allergic to. Reactions usually take place within minutes and rapidly progress but can occur up to 2-3 hours later. It is potentially life-threatening and always requires immediate emergency response.

About Us

Anaphylaxis Campaign was formed in 1994 by Honorary Vice-President David Reading after his 17-year-old daughter Sarah sadly passed away following an allergic reaction to peanuts. We are the only UK wide charity operating solely for the growing numbers of people at risk from severe allergic reactions and anaphylaxis.
