Moraine Park foundation board welcomes new member

FOND DU LAC, WISC. / AGILITYPR.NEWS / August 30, 2022 / The Moraine Park Technical College Foundation Board welcomes DeAnn Thurmer, president of SSM Health’s Ripon Medical Center and Waupun Memorial Hospital. She will serve three three-year terms.

“I am so pleased to welcome DeAnn to the Foundation Board,” Dana Bourland, director of college advancement at Moraine Park, said. “DeAnn and SSM Health have been generous supporters of Moraine Park students through scholarship support and by hiring our graduates to fill their workforce needs.”

Thurmer graduated from UW Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and received her master’s from Marian University in Organizational Leadership and Quality. She began her career as an ICU RN at Waupun Memorial Hospital in 1985, progressed through management levels to the VP of Patient Services in 1994, and became Administrator/COO of Waupun Memorial Hospital in 2004.

With the merger of Agnesian Healthcare and SSM, Thurmer became president and took over the additional responsibility of Ripon Medical Center in June of 2019.

Thurmer enjoys rural healthcare and found the faith-based ministry to fit her personal values. She lives on Fox Lake and has been married for 40 years. She and her husband have three adult sons, two daughters by marriage, and two grandchildren.

Agnesian Healthcare/SSM Health has supported the Foundation as a Gourmet Dinner sponsor, lead donor for the Moraine Park Promise program, donor to the health sciences program, and a donor for CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) scholarships.

“I am excited to combine my health care experience with the mission of MPTC assisting the next generation in achieving their career goals,” Thurmer said.
