The Customer is Always Right sees consumers objectively road test, review and rate new, innovative products with SPh2ONGE’s winning episode airing TOMORROW on Tuesday May 5th at 3.45pm on BBC One
The episode sees cult cleaning product (and Mrs Hinch fave) SPh2ONGE by entrepreneur Christopher Foster, 35, compete against a baby bib and a sports bag with an anti theft device.
SPh2ONGE wins, scoring 44 out of a possible 50 points against Pram Bib, by Melanie Taal and Active Cargo, from Tony Poon. The show’s producers, Firecracker Films, said it was one of the show’s highest scoring episodes.
SPh2ONGE’s range of brightly coloured high absorbency sponges, cleaning cloths, microfibre cloths and pet towels designed to ‘make cleaning fun’ has helped the London and Dorset-based company go from zero to hundreds of thousands of pounds in sales in just 2 years.

SPh2ONGE came to life in 2016 after Christopher Foster wanted a way to defrost his freezer with zero mess - and couldn’t find one. Having developed the super high absorbency sponge and given it a catchy name, the inventive SPh2ONGE became hugely popular on Social Media after being praised by top cleaning guru Mrs Hinch and appearing on ITV’s This Morning. Foster left his job as an estate agent to run the company full time.
SPh2ONGE- which is constantly innovating and launched a new microfibre pet towel, ‘No More Wet Dog!’ in March this year - is stocked at major retailers including: QD stores, Yorkshire Trading Co, Semichem, Blue Diamond Garden Centres and online at Robert Dyas. The company initially grew almost entirely via Facebook and Instagram with cleaning influencers ( known as ‘Cleanfluencers’) raving about the products.
As a nod to the company’s success in the social media community, SPh2ONGE launched a real life community award last year to highlight acts of selflessness and generosity in the UK’s real life communities.
