National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Partners with Unite Georgia to Address Mental Health and Critical Social Needs for Georgians Across the State

ATLANTA, GEORGIA / AGILITYPR.NEWS / April 08, 2022 / The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Georgia (NAMI Georgia) and Unite Us, the nation’s leading technology company connecting health and social care, are partnering to expand the coordinated care network known as Unite Georgia to address the unmet needs of people and families throughout the state. The launch will include all areas supported by NAMI Georgia, emphasizing expanding resources to the state’s rural counties.

Unite Us connects people to much-needed resources and services such as assistance with mental health, housing, food and employment. The coordinated care network allows health and social care providers and community-based organizations to send and receive secure electronic referrals, address people’s social needs, and improve health across communities. NAMI joined the = Unite Georgia network in January 2022 to extend its Helpline services.

NAMI Georgia State Office acknowledges the importance of social care to improve a person’s overall well-being. Our Helpline is available to the 159 county residents that seek our help. Partnering with Unite Us through collaboration and outreach, ensures we provide added support to their requests.

"We joined the Unite Us network to better serve and connect our Helpline callers to resources within the community. We look forward to referring individuals to our network partners and supporting our fellow community-based agencies that reach out to us," said Marquia Robinson, Program Manager.

Together NAMI Georgia and Unite Us will be able to securely connect people in need with community-based resources that can be difficult to navigate alone. The network provides a central point of contact where health care providers, social service organizations, and individuals can securely access and refer people to needed services while monitoring progress and measuring outcomes.

“Our partnership with NAMI Georgia aligns with our goal to connect residents to much-needed resources and services they need, regardless of circumstance,” said Shauna Carlson, Community Engagement Manager, Unite Us. “Our team works collaboratively to support and train network partners that coordinate care no matter where in the state people live. Our intent is to increase equitable access to care and services,” she added.
