New Amendments to Hong Kong’s Toys and Children’s Product Standards
BAAR, SWITZERLAND / AGILITYPR.NEWS / April 02, 2026 / SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 042.26, providing an overview of the update from the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on the revision of multiple standards for toys and children’s products.
Safety standards for these products in Hong Kong are mandated in Schedule 1 (Toy Standards) and Schedule 2 (Product Standards) of the Toys and Children’s Products Safety Ordinance (the Ordinance).
Publication of Toys and Children’s Products Safety Ordinance (Amendment of Schedules 1 and 2) Notice 2026 revised these safety standards for toys and four categories of children’s products under the Ordinance. This latest amendment follows an earlier update issued in February 2025, which came into effect in August 2025.
Children’s products include:
- Children’s highchairs and multi-purpose highchairs for domestic use
- Children’s paints
- Playpens for domestic use
- Wheeled child conveyances
