One Mission Society Sponsors 5K Run to Support Worldwide Literacy
GREENWOOD, IN (June 3, 2019) —Many will gather for the fight against illiteracy around the world by participating in One Mission Society’s 5K run at Freedom Park. From beginners to experienced runners, the Freedom Park 5K Run is open for anyone to participate. Last year, OMS had a successful turnout so expects to see many return runners, as well as a few new faces to run together for a world-changing cause.
For greater impact, OMS has open registration until June 28 for anyone interested in supporting Bridge to Reading literacy, a program that aids people to learn how to read and write in Africa and South America. For a small registration fee of $30, every participant will receive a medal, tshirt, and timed results. Families are encouraged to celebrate this 4th of July-themed run as strollers, walkers, and groups are welcome, as well as serious runners. Even if you do not wish to participate, you can still donate by sponsoring a runner on the website or by giving directly to the ministry: https://onemissionsociety.org/give/bridge-to-reading.
The Freedom Park 5K Run will be held on June 29 at 8 AM. Participants are encouraged to dress in patriotic costumes to kick-off Independence Day celebrations. Uncle Sam will be in attendance and will proudly take pictures with participants.
