PR firms join forces to win third major university web project

LONDON / AGILITYPR.NEWS / February 20, 2020 / PR firms join forces to win third major university web project

PR firms in the south of England and south Wales have successfully partnered on a third major project, winning a £50k contract to write content for City, University of London’s new website.

EMPRA Ltd, an education marketing agency based in Hampshire, and Weltch Media a communications business, in Cardiff, have pooled resources on previous projects, enabling them to provide a comprehensive expert service for clients in the education sector.

City University’s the Web 2020 project involves redeveloping the university’s website, with the EMPRA/ Weltch Media team creating new content for hundreds of course pages and other parts of the new site.

City, University of London was founded in 1894 as the Northampton Institute on its present site at the heart of London, close to the financial hub in the Square Mile. With a focus on business and the professions, it attracts some 20,000 students (46% at postgraduate level) from more than 160 countries.

EMPRA mainly focuses on working with schools, further education and education businesses, including MetFilm School, while Weltch Media’s work is mainly with universities, as well as commercial and sporting organisations.

Ruth Sparkes, managing director at EMPRA said: “Our two firms work very well together, we’re able to pool resources and tap into each other’s strengths to ensure that our joint projects are the best they can be.

“Both businesses continue to work independently, but this partnership has opened up opportunities, drawing on each other’s expertise enabling us to bid for larger projects.”

Previously the two firms worked together on similar large-scale web projects for the University of Southampton and Swansea University. The Swansea project last year won silver in the best website category at the Heist education marketing awards and gold in the AVA digital awards.

The City contract, which was awarded after a competitive tender in November 2019 is due to be completed in June.
