Poole Pirates Speedway rev up as new sponsor for Quay for my Car
The UK’s most successful speedway team has taken on a new role as sponsor of the south coast’s premier car event.
Supported by Poole Pirates trophy winning team, Quay for my Car, sees a unique display featuring a different marque each week against the backdrop of Poole’s stunning Quay.
From TVR’s and Minis to Italian classics and Lotus 7s, a new line-up is created every Friday evening in July–August from 6– 9pm, meaning there is something for everyone. Organised by BCP Tourism, Quay for my Car is a major part of Poole’s Wave 105 Summertime in the South events programme.
With eight top-flight titles in the past 16 years, five Knockout Cup titles, Four Elite Shields and three world champions, Poole Pirates reputation has put the town on the map through their high profile national and international recognition of the sport and celebrated the club’s 70th anniversary in 2018 with yet another speedway title.
Matt Ford, Poole Pirates owner and promoter, said: “We are really excited to support Poole’s summer events and Quay for my Car is such a great event to be part of. The team and our supporters share an absolute passion for vehicles and it’s fantastic to see the love shown by the car clubs, spectators and enthusiasts who come out in force. With a different display each week against the best backdrop in the UK, it’s every petrol heads dream whether on two wheels or more!”
The event offers free entry onto the quayside for specific car owners to park up and show off their vehicles against the stunning backdrop of the Quay and Poole Harbour. Owners and spectators can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and are spoilt for choice with the Quay’s great selection of continental café bars, traditional pubs and fine dining restaurants. The must have spaces for these unique marques are allocated on a first come first served basis.
