BAAR, SWITZERLAND / AGILITYPR.NEWS / May 18, 2026 / SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 061.26, summarizing the US state of Minnesota’s two-and-a-half-month extension of the reporting due date for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in products.
The harmful effects of many of these ‘forever chemicals’ have led to restrictions on their use globally, due to their toxic and bioaccumulative nature.
This is the second deadline extension announced by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) since the original date of January 1, 2026, for products containing intentionally added PFAS, known as Amara’s Law. The MPCA has extended the reporting deadline to September 15, 2026, and updated its website accordingly.
