BROWNSVILLE, TX / AGILITYPR.NEWS / April 30, 2026 / Brownsville, TX — Southern Careers Institute (SCI) is proud to announce that its Cosmetology Operator students from the SCI Brownsville Branch Campus will be attending Goodwill’s Work the Runway Fashion Show on May 7th at 5:30 PM at the McAllen Convention Center located at 700 Convention Center Blvd. McAllen, TX 78501.
This exciting opportunity reflects SCI’s commitment to providing students with meaningful, hands-on experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Our Cosmetology Operator students don’t just learn the basics—they obtain exposure to high-end, red carpet–level experiences that help provide real-world skills, confidence, and professionalism.
As part of the event, students will compete for three scholarships totaling $5,000—demonstrating how creativity, style, and innovation can open doors and change lives.
Work the Runway is a ticketed event, with all proceeds supporting Goodwill’s mission to change lives through the power of work. The event brings together fashion, community, and purpose for an impactful evening.
Participation in events like Work the Runway offers students a glimpse into what their future in the beauty industry can look like, while also allowing them to engage with the local community and industry professionals.
