SGS Summarizes Updates to Australian Aquatic Toys Safety Standard
BAAR, SWITZERLAND / AGILITYPR.NEWS / July 20, 2026 / SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 092.26, summarizing Australia’s update to its aquatic toys safety standard, which aligns warning statements with AS/NZS ISO 8124.1/ISO 8124-1.
Published on June 25, 2026, by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), the new Consumer Goods (Aquatic Toys) Safety Standard has a transitional period of 24 months from the day after registration. The previous 2020 version of the standard will be repealed on June 25, 2028.
Key updates included in the standard are the introduction of a ‘dynamic referencing’ approach and alignment of the warning statement requirements with AS/NZS ISO 8124.1/ISO 8124-1.
