SGS explains new Saudi Arabian digital frameworks for food export regulations

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND / AGILITYPR.NEWS / September 12, 2025 / SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published an article outlining changes to Saudi Arabia’s product conformity assessment (PCA) processes. New digital platforms have been adopted to help businesses streamline their food imports into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The food import market in the country offers significant opportunities for companies. However, with strict regulations in place to protect consumers from unsafe products, SGS plays a vital role in supporting companies seeking to ensure compliance with national technical requirements, while also helping to support public health and the Kingdom’s food security objectives.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has transitioned to two key digital platforms to streamline food imports: GHAD and FASEH. Food product registrations are now handled exclusively by GHAD, which has replaced the FRCS platform. FASEH manages documentation submission and shipment clearance. From August 24, 2025, all certificates of conformity (CoC) will be issued exclusively via the FASEH platform.

Expert services from SGS allow companies to navigate these crucial steps in the regulatory process, ensuring all documentation is in place. SGS clients can leverage in-depth knowledge of SFDA requirements to minimize risk, eliminate uncertainty and move shipments smoothly through Saudi Arabia’s borders.
