SGS explores plastic recycling to reduce pollution

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND / AGILITYPR.NEWS / October 15, 2024 / SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published a Consumer Compact article exploring plastic pollution and innovative recycling solutions.

Plastic production continues to rise, from around 2.3 million tons in 1950 to a predicted 800 million tons by 2050. This places a heavy toll on the environment in terms of resource use and chemical pollution. Governments around the world are starting to respond through legislation and new technologies around recycling are helping to reduce the reliance on virgin plastics.

SGS’s Consumer Compact article looks at the problems associated with plastic production and waste. It considers the innovations that are being made around recycling and the solutions offered by SGS to help forward-thinking businesses who are committed to sustainability.
