SLCC Names Jon Beutler, Director of The Mill Entrepreneurship Center

SALT LAKE CITY, UT / AGILITYPR.NEWS / September 28, 2020 / Salt Lake Community College has named Jon Beutler the director at The Mill Entrepreneurship Center. Beutler will lead one of Utah’s largest incubator and co-location facilities on the Wasatch Front, with a vision of entrepreneurship, a solid foundation in education and far-reaching access to resources for entrepreneurs.

“Jon brings an impressive career within the startup community and the technology industry,” said Beth Colosimo, executive director, Business Development Resources at Salt Lake Community College. “As the alumni manager for Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program and director of the Park City Business Resource Center, Jon has helped launch hundreds of entrepreneurs at Salt Lake Community College.”

For the past several years, Beutler has taught startup curriculum and recently established the “Everyday Entrepreneur Program” for early stage entrepreneurs wanting to get started quickly.

“After proving its success over the last three years and with 60+ early-stage entrepreneurs having taken the course, this successful program has now become a for-credit class at SLCC,” Colosimo said.

Beutler’s expanded role overseeing The Mill will include opportunities to grow entrepreneurship training within the traditional SLCC student population, as well as with partner organizations around the county.

“Having access to the thinkers, creators and innovators of our student population is very exciting,” said Beutler. “The Mill will drive the growth of these student entrepreneurs by creating a space for like-minded individuals to share stories, learn, network and scale their companies. They will not be alone on their journey.”

In addition, Beutler will oversee the co-working and incubation membership at The Mill, offering entrepreneurs a place to gather and network by utilizing shared desks, dedicated locking desks and full offices.

Included with a Mill membership, clients have full access to meeting rooms, board rooms, podcast studio, print services and mail stop. The Mill clients have access to additional training targeting growth and operational strategies and one-on-one mentoring. In the same Miller Business Resource building is a full menu of small business support services, including Salt Lake SBDC, SCORE, Woman’s Tech Council, Manufacturing Extension Partnership, Procurement Technical Assistance Center, and Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer all under one roof.
