Saprea is proud to partner with Ray of Hope, a New York-based organization devoted to the care of male and female survivors of sexual abuse and their families within the Jewish community, across the U.S. and abroad. Seeing a need for extended support within their community, Ray of Hope Founder and CEO Zeldy Broyde, COO and Director of Intake Abby Delouya, RMFT-CCC, CPTT, and Chief Clinical Officer David Kohn, LCSW, joined forces with Saprea to bring the Utah-based unique and in-demand survivor retreats to the East Coast this past May.

“Partnering with Ray of Hope provided women with an opportunity to attend a Saprea Retreat close to home. By pairing a safe, kosher-observant environment with Saprea’s clinically informed educational classes and experiential activities, Ray of Hope members could learn and apply healing tools and strengthen connections in their community,” says Saprea Chief Clinical Officer, Betsy Kanarowski, PhD, LCSW.

The Saprea Retreat is a free, clinically informed four-day experience followed by a self-guided online course for adult women who were sexually abused at or before age 18. The retreat is a place of hope and healing, typically held in the mountains of Utah. Through the partnership, Saprea was able to take their retreat on the road, reaching even more survivors. Twenty women attended the recent Kosher Retreat in May, reassuring participants of a culturally safe and respectful environment for healing.

Saprea was introduced to Ray of Hope through local Utah-based Orthodox Rabbi Avrohom “Avremi” Zippel, a child sexual abuse survivor who made headlines in Salt Lake City when his nanny was found guilty of abuse in 2019. Rabbi Zippel is an active advocate for child sexual abuse awareness and healing in Utah and across the nation.

“Millions of children each year are sexually abused before the age of 18. There is no bias, religious or otherwise, when it comes to child sexual abuse. It is an issue that cannot be ignored. It is our fervent hope to partner with organizations whose mission is to extend sustainable healing to all those in need of support within their community. We hope to help women of every culture, background, and religion who have experienced child sexual abuse and seek healing pathways,” says Chris Yadon, Managing Director at Saprea. Led by a team of licensed therapists and case managers who are eager to help survivors heal, the Saprea Retreat teaches survivors about the impacts of trauma, provides opportunities to apply healing tools, and builds a community of support. 

Additionally, Saprea offers online courses, healing webinars (in both Spanish and English), virtual events, and a collection of online resources free to the public for a personalized journey to turn trauma into resilience. Saprea encourages cross-cultural healing and is open to creating custom retreat experiences with organizations serving unique audiences and communities, fostering a deeper understanding and application of healing principles for all individuals in need of support.

“Being a survivor can feel so isolated, but here I found a group of incredible women to join me on my journey. I cried, I laughed, and I felt truly understood. I am going home a changed person. My heart is open to healing, and I have so much hope,” says a Saprea Retreat attendee.
