ShiKai Announces Free Packaging Recycling Program
SANTA ROSA, CA / AGILITYPR.NEWS / February 01, 2022 / Consumers Can Now Recycle ShiKai® Packaging Nationwide Through TerraCycle ®
ShiKai®, the company that makes botanically-based solutions that work, today announced its recycling program with international recycling leader TerraCycle® to make the packaging for its skin and hair care product lines nationally recyclable in the United States. As part of the program, for every shipment of ShiKai® packaging sent to TerraCycle, consumers earn points that can be donated to a non-profit, school or charitable organization of their choice.
“We have seen the effects of climate change firsthand here in Sonoma County and are committed to a multifaceted approach around environmental responsibility,” said Jason Sepp, ShiKai president. “With this program, we are pleased to help customers easily recycle product containers - lessening their individual footprints and the need for virgin materials for remanufacture while helping keep waste out of landfill. This is one step in a series of commitments we will be sharing throughout the year ahead.”
Through the new ShiKai Recycling Program, empty ShiKai packaging including plastic tubes, pots, pumps, sprays, jars, complex closures and glass packaging can be recycled for free. Once collected, the packaging is cleaned and melted into hard plastic that can be remolded to make new recycled products, such as park benches and picnic tables.
“Skin care and hair care are two essential steps in the daily routines of many consumers,” said TerraCycle CEO and Founder, Tom Szaky. “Through this recycling program, ShiKai is giving customers the unique opportunity to make their beauty regimens more sustainable by offering a way to responsibly dispose of empty skin and hair care packaging.”
