WESTLAKE, OH — Summer is officially in swing and to celebrate the change in season, a new pop-up music festival is coming to town! Cue the live bands, delicious food trucks, ice cold beer and an eclectic handmade market! Making its premier on August 3rd, the first annual Shop and Rock Handmade Fest will be held at Market Square in Crocker Park.
This fun festive event is free to the public and will feature a variety of live bands, a pop-up market with nearly 100 handmade local artisans and crafters, a beer garden stocked with local brews, spirits and wine from Sibling Revelry Brewery, Western Reserve Distillers, Nectar of the Vine, and five food trucks including local favorites: Slyman’s Tavern, Get Stuffed, The Cedar Grill, Touch Supper Club and The Little Penguin. Guests in attendance will have the opportunity to sip, shop and savor summer all day/evening long as the event will run from 11am-6pm. Alcohol proceeds from the event will also benefit local non-profit, the Karen Foundation for MS.
The music will be as diverse as the artisans and crafters who will be participating in the event (but more on that later!). Featuring three live bands, the lineup includes:
11:30am-1:00pm- Billy Likes Soda
1:30pm- 3:30pm- Michelle Romary Trio
4:00pm-5:30pm- The Travelin’ Johnsons
For those looking to find something unique and 100% handmade, the event’s indoor/outdoor artisan market is the place to be, this portion of the festival will feature some of the area’s most talented artisans and crafters selling their goods. Ranging from rustic home décor, CLE apparel, various jewelers of different styles, delicious eats, artisanal bath and body products and more, the market has a bit of everything for everyone.
Hosted and created by locally owned show line Avant-Garde Art & Craft Shows founder, Becki Silverstein, the Shop and Rock Handmade Fest is the newest festival created by the company. With over 30 artisan/crafter events held year-round in the Midwest, this year’s fest is the first music festival of its kind launched by the company.
“It’s been on our radar now for some time to launch a music festival that also combines the talent that we have at our artisan/crafter events throughout the year. We wanted to merge that concept together into one experience that featured music and art along with delicious eats and drinks to create the perfect summer day out in Cleveland!” said Silverstein. “I’m originally from Westlake and the vibe of the city, the location and bringing something back to my original hometown felt like the perfect fit, especially with the Market Square in Crocker Park location. It’s my hope to make this an annual summer tradition in the city, so we are very excited to see how the public receives the event!”
