Summerfield Charity Boules Tournament raises £3,500 for Somerset Good Causes
TAUNTON UK / AGILITYPR.NEWS / September 23, 2026 / Businesses from across the South West came together for Taunton-based developer Summerfield's 15th annual charity boules tournament, raising £3,500 for Somerset good causes.
The tournament and lunch, held at Taunton Deane Cricket Club on Thursday, 10th September, welcomed 40 teams and more than 155 guests for a friendly knock-out competition and an opportunity to raise money for the local community.
Funds raised through the event will support Arc through the Summerfield Force for Good Fund, a new charity partner for the next two years, as well as making a number of smaller grants to local charities and groups, managed by Somerset Community Foundation. Arc provides accommodation, outreach and personalised support to people affected by homelessness across Somerset, helping them move towards greater stability and independence.
Contributions from participating businesses raised £2,803.67, with Summerfield rounding this up to £3,500. The donation will be made through Somerset Community Foundation as part of Summerfield's long-standing commitment to supporting local organisations.
James Holyday, Group Managing Director of Summerfield, said: “Our annual boules tournament is always a highlight in the Summerfield calendar, bringing together the local business community for some friendly competition while raising money for organisations making a real difference in Somerset.

We are also pleased to introduce the additional charity draw this year, enabling another local cause to benefit from the generosity and community spirit behind the event.”
Businesses attending were also invited to choose one of ten local charities to be entered into a special draw for an additional £500 donation from Summerfield. Open Door Charity was selected to receive the donation by PKF Francis Clark, the winners of the draw.

The Cup competition was won by A C Mole, with Cooper Associates taking the runners-up place. PKF Francis Clark won the Plate competition, ahead of the Summerfield team. The best-dressed team prize went to Amicus Law, while Albert Goodman received the Wooden Spoon.
The annual tournament is due to return in September 2027, with the date to be confirmed.
