TRICO Brand Ambassador, Sarah Moore, has been chosen as one of the drivers for the inaugural W Series, the first-ever top level motor racing championship for female racing drivers.
Spearheaded by former F1 Grand Prix winner and now W Series Chairman, David Coulthard, the series has been launched to provide ‘remarkable’ female drivers with an opportunity to showcase their talents on a global scale and improve their chances of becoming professional racing drivers in the future.
Sarah, who began the defence of her Britcar Dunlop Endurance Championship title at Silverstone last weekend, impressed during recent testing in Almeria, where lap-times from both short and long-runs, the ability to work technically, chemistry with engineers and fitness were all assessed.

The 25-year-old Tockwith Motorsports (TMS) driver, one of five Britons to progress to the final 18, will line-up on the grid for the first of the six-round series at Hockenheim (Germany) during the weekend of the 3rd and 4th May, where she will drive a turbocharged 1.8l Tatuus T-318, identical to the car used in the FIA Formula 3 Championship.
Other venues include Zolder (Belgium), Misano (Italy), Norisring (Germany), Assen (The Netherlands) and Brands Hatch (UK).
Sarah, who aspires to race in the Le Mans 24-Hour race, said: “I am thrilled and proud to be a part of the 2019 W Series. I believe this is reward for the hard work I have put in over the last few years, and it is an opportunity I want to make the most of – it’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to show what I can do in a (single-seater) formula car.”

TRICO’s Senior Product and Brand Manager, Sam Robinson, said: “Everyone associated with TRICO would like to congratulate Sarah on this momentous stage of her career. We are delighted that her talents have been recognised, and we will be glued to the screens to monitor her progress as her motor racing career reaches new heights – we’re proud to have Sarah as our brand ambassador.”
TMS Owner and Sarah’s father, Simon Moore, added: “I couldn’t be prouder, but I’m not altogether too surprised. It’s been emotional as a father, but as a team owner and watching her progress through the years, I know how talented she is both as a racing driver and a mentor to those she works alongside and nurtures. She deserves this amazing opportunity, and I’m sure she will be competitive in the series.”
The W Series races will be shown live on television in the UK, and more information about this will be announced shortly.
