Tata Steel’s new Protact lamination line at its IJmuiden plant works in the Netherlands is now fully operational. The facility, known as Lamination Line 11, has been constructed following the opening of the company’s film manufacturing line, or Film Line 12, in 2017.
Together the full facility has the capacity to make more than 200,000 tonnes of Protact canstock a year. The lamination line, the largest of its kind in the world, sees the specialist film coating applied to sheet steel through heat lamination to produce the final Protact product.
